Carved Oak Box

This box is made by splitting out the material, rather than sawing.The sides are connected with wooden pins and the lid is held in place with snipe hinges.  Carved floral pattern of tulips, vines and leaves with stippled background. 

 Painted with a base of orange and a second coat of black. oil/varnish finish with wax.

Box is 15-1/2" wide x 9" deep x 5" high
